Transitioning Your Wardrobe From Summer to Fall

With September right around the corner and the temperatures finally starting to be reasonable, I thought it was a good time to chat about transitioning a summer wardrobe to a fall one. I’ve already begun making some changes to how I style certain pieces like dresses and I couldn’t be more excited for fall fashion.

One of the easiest ways (and my favorite) to start transitioning your wardrobe for fall is to start styling your dresses with jackets and sweaters. Fall days are warm, but the evenings and mornings are cool. What’s a girl to do? Dressing in layers that you can add and subtract with the fluctuating temperatures is the way to go! It’s also an easy way to change the tone of an outfit and get more wear out of summer items you’re not ready to let go of yet. You can also do this same thing with your tank tops and sleeveless tops as the season transitions.

Another way to slowly ease into fall is by swapping out your sandals and wedges for closed-toe shoes. You all know I’m a big fan of sneakers with a dress (as pictured here), but you can also start wearing your boots with your pants and dresses. It’s a small change that makes a big impact.

If you have any other tips and tricks I’d love to hear about them down in the comments!

Shop the look

My exact dress if from Loft, but unfortunately, it’s sold out. However, I linked to several that would give you a similar look. I also found a couple of similar necklaces to the one I’m wearing since it’s always a popular item.
